Samuel Jacobs

Graduate Research Assistant
Samuel Jacobs is a graduate student in the Epidemiology MPH program at the University of Minnesota School Of Public Health. His research focus areas have included mental wellness of firefighters, epidemiology, and occupational safety. I got involved with Dr. Hyun Kim and his work with the mental wellness of firefighters. He has experience conducting interviews and focus groups with firefighters, examining physical and psychological stress. His master’s thesis revolved around the characterization of the risk of bone fracture in retired astronauts due to spaceflight-induced bone loss. His current research examines the various factors that contribute to increasing instances of police pursuits.
